"Why are you sad sad? Why aren’t you happy sad? Why do we feel sad? Because our heart is heavy. When does the heart feel heavy? When someone hurts our heart. Who can hurt our heart so much? Who is very close to the heart. Who is the heart close to? With whom the heart feels happy. You were happy that’s why you are sad. So be happy sad, not sad sad." - From Cheeni Kum, a Bollywood movie

Life is a funny thing. Mood swings are just horrible. Nothing really matters in the end though. Like Bono said, "Tell me what you need and I'll tell you how to live without it."

As I said, life is strange but the MAN up in the sky does take good care of me. I feel down one day and he throws me a bone to keep me excited about the possibilities to come. Yea life is frustrating at the moment. When another person is involved in the equation, I lose half of my control and that is not ideal. However, bring one or two more people into the existing equation and things just go haywire. Imagine having three variables in the equation and you are trying eliminate some factors to find the one answer. Such is mathematically impossible, how does anyone expect me to figure it out in real life?

My life:

In the words of the illustrious Sheryl Crow:

If it makes you happy
It can't be that bad
If it makes you happy
Then why the hell are you so sad

My work:

So a little while after I accepted my offer, my Managing Director gave me a call while I was shopping at Lennox to introduce himself. Since I told him that I was at the mall, he now thinks I'm a shopper and so my portfolio of companies consist mainly of apparel companies, which is awesome to say the least. So quotes for my last training week;

-"As an analyst, you'll be doing the grunt work. Not flying around in corporate jets and doing deals"- Head of my  division. Reality hits hard.

-"So I saw you taking a little nap there"- Kevin, after we were training in the board room, oh crap.

-After answering a one sentence question with a 3min answer; "Wow I love my job"- an (MD)

-"I want to be a window cleaner for a week"- Mike

So I was talking to my high school friend who works in the fashion industry and this is how our conversation went:

Friend: What have you been up to?

Me: I've been doing models all night, I'm so tired, I think I'm about to pass out.

Friend: Erm... were they hot models? You've changed a lot since high school...

Oh funny, if only my life was that sizzling...for now I have a love affair with excel, working on blown up models, hostile takeover models, mergers of equals and simply 'massaging' the numbers.

So I pasted another conversation I had with my dear ex-roommate Alyssa, I need all your thoughts, am I just a pervert or does Alyssa sound very perverted?

Cytheria Regina (7:41:30 PM): it's amazing when my hips move with the rhythm of the horse
Cytheria Regina (7:41:35 PM): so smooth!
Cytheria Regina (7:42:19 PM): you just sit on top, wrap your legs around, try to keep your balance, and absorb his energy with your hips
Cytheria Regina (7:42:31 PM): I'm gonna work on directing next time
noopas84 (7:43:37 PM): and what is directing?
Cytheria Regina (7:43:36 PM): telling him where to go...
Cytheria Regina (7:43:44 PM): with mostly my legs
Cytheria Regina (7:48:45 PM): you should try it too
Cytheria Regina (7:49:49 PM): oh, you know what, when I relax on him, he actually thrusts me forward...
Cytheria Regina (7:50:00 PM): then he stops...
Cytheria Regina (7:50:11 PM): I almost fell off him
Cytheria Regina (7:50:30 PM): like over his head

So as you can see, I was speechless (and laughing my head off) during most of the conversation....

So this is the first time that I've worked for 16 hours, well 15 if you minus lunch. Wow, a whole day spent doing financial models on excel, don't know if I should be happy or sad... I mean I knew it was going to be like this and I really enjoyed doing it tonight, but then a part of me questions why I want to do it. Anyway, it was good bonding time, people can be so nice even though they're tired and helping me would only waste their time. I'm sure we'll be tight by the end of training...now my eyes are slowly closing zzzzzzzzz
